Mad Mad Marcae sings with conviction. His vocal performance
has been described as a combination of a soul, rhythm & blues
singer along with the confidence and smooth delivery of today's
pop artists. He sites some of his influences as Blood Sweat
& Tears, B.B. King, Joe Cocker, James Brown and The Rolling
Stones. At home singing passionate blues songs as well as romantic
ballads with soul, Mad Mad Marcae calls his style of music Mad
Blues "…a compilation of true soulful low down and dirty Blues
with a tasty urban twist".
Marcae Taurus - better known as Mad Mad Marcae - has re-invented
today's blues with the big band feel of the 70's. His current
project - Mad Mad Marcae & his Lost Roll of Pennies Blues Band
- has made a large impact in Big Bear Lake, California, where
he resides with his family. He was born April 24, 1958 in Tacoma,
Washington, and started his singing career around age five,
singing gospel music with his brothers and sisters (there are
9 of them) at KYAC in Tacoma, Washington. In his young adult
life, he continued to involve his passion for performing by
joining jazz choir, musical theater and playing in various local
bands as a lead vocalist and at times as a drummer.
In 1984, he drove his VW Bug to Los Angeles, CA, to pursue his
music career. Los Angeles was where every musician needed to
go, and supported a large musical community where every style
music could be found. Mad Mad stayed in his bug, joined a gym
to have access to a shower and hit Hollywood. He continued performing
in a variety of music genre's… classic rock, funk, dance, R&B
and rock, but found that Blues was the best style for him.
Mad Mad Marcae is as passionate about his family as he is about
his musical ambitions. He met his wife, "G" in 1990 and they
have been inseperable ever since. They share two beautiful children
together and work together on Mad Mad's music career. Along
with music and the kids, Mad Mad's interests include football,
fishing and playing Texas Hold 'em. Of course, God is at the
very top of that list!
He currently resides in beautiful Big Bear Lake, California;
where you can find him playing at various local clubs gigging
with his Lost Roll of Pennies Blues Band. He has found many
fans in Southern California as he performs both as a solo artist,
and with a full band.
